Abstract

The quality of sustainability reporting has become a global necessity, and the reliability of the ownership structure could affect this. This aspect necessitates the attention of modern studies and authorities. Thus, this study explores the impact of managerial, institutional, government, family, and foreign ownership on the quality of sustainability reporting in the Iraqi banking sector. The secondary data were taken from the databases of thirty commercial banks between 2011 and 2021. The researchers also utilized the Method of Moments Quantile Regression (MMQR) to examine the relationships between variables under investigation. The results demonstrated that the management ownership structure, institutional ownership structure, government ownership structure, family ownership structure, and foreign ownership structure have favorable relationships with the quality of sustainability reporting in the Iraqi banking sector. The study assists policymakers in formulating regulations about the production of a high-quality report on sustainability utilizing an appropriate ownership structure.
